i must say the compressor pedal looks quite nifty although i can't imagine myself using one. i like the surprise aspect of guitar sounds..you know... weird feedbacking for no reason and such like. different strokes for different folks i guess the topic of true bypass has cropping up a lot lately hasn't it? mwahahah

actually u know what.. i cannot quite actually define a compressor.. i know the most common usage is to balance the tone so the sound comes out full n not too bassy or too trebley.. others use it as a clean boost while some use it for eh.. compressing.. i donno.. what r ur tots about it?..

OK OK! I was just thinking why i would want to build myself one... so I took out my Yamaha DG Stomp and put the compressor on.. and tried it... 1) It really evens out the sound.. great for strumming acoustics. 2) if using single coils, it MAY fatten the sound a bit (prob thats what non-transparency is) 3) I can get my squeal harmonics loud and clear! More comments are appreciated of cos! cheers, airhole

haizzz, cant read the post already. i remember when the idea of this FK pedals was first brought up there, it was really funny. Some pro RK ppl find it rude, crude, whatever you call it, but teese never really admit or saying that fk is fuck keeley or whatever that is. some people use the compressor to even out the tone volume, increase sustain etc . But i find it not much point, at least for me. A good setup, even without a compressor, the sound shud have a natural sustain and as a guitarist, the dynamics shud be distinctive, if not, i'll find that its just playing, but without affecting or making my mood to blend in with the music, emotionless playing or just whack all the way type. Just my few cent

i remember talking to uncle david n he said his keeley comp is slightly better than his bad boy comp because it picks up sounds that r lost.. like when u play fast n u hit some strings really light but somehow it still voices out quite clear.. that's the magic of a good comp.. anymore takers?.. i finalising my order by tuesday, 12th Oct.. thanks!! ;D

Anyway, analog mike says that the FK-1 is an exact clone of the Ross Compressor. So it should be good.
cheers, airhole

talking about Ross compressors. Edwin from wakemeup offered to make me a Ross clone when I queried him about compressors. I can't remember the pricing now but if it's cheaper than the FK-1, I might get it hopefully he prices it around the 100 buck region

boss..that's over the top. no true pedal lover would do that. i am questioning your integrity as a pedal now as i type these words. just kidding ... you told me before about the compressor on the R66. but knowing all of us...we would only take singular pedals. hahaha. we are suckers for good looking or exclusive pedals
