sansamprox, think about it in this way.
a group of private practise doctors who are top-notch established in their field keep commenting how yucky the polyclinic doctors are. yes, the polyclinic doctors take care of the usual fever and stomachach ... but they serve the community. the polyclinic doctors might not be doing brain surgery, heart transplant ... but it is because they are still gaining the experience. in time to come, maybe some of them will become specialist. some may become GP.
the thing is, one moutain still got one moutain higher. we are all trying to improve the local music, why not help each others. my love is community/family bonding and education.

ohhhhhh group hug everyone  actually how it all started is me, a fucking bastard having too much time to wander around forums and internet. Thus all these constant belittling has nothing to do with the owner of the forums or some other name being mentioned in this thread. But if got people start to join in, is there some truth to what was said? Anyway, to kick start the love all help all, "in the name of improving your locale scene" I suggest, we talk more and more and more, so that people who see it beyond just talking will get it! Singapore used to have many old buildings that tell lotsa story, although its old and ugly looking, it brings out the taste and that poor sense of history, which is part of the unique look to it. And in the good name of upgrading, the authority decided to revamp the whole place, new coat of pain, young vibrant plan for the new age. Everything was nice and pleasant and look so sweet. But sadly, in the name of improving and upgrading, the soul of the place was lost. Everything was replaced beyond that initial "simpleness" that give it its life. |

ahseng, media is a very powerful tool. imagine school children now are OK with 'acting' in porn video. how did they get the notion? through media.
it is not 1 year or 2 years. it is prolonged exposure to certain media that shift a person's perception.
44ofjuly, when people start to join in, is there some truth to what was said? yes, there is certainly truth to what is said. but why hagger over these? in the case of SOFT, it reaches out to everyone who like making music. Young and old, man and woman. if the person is young, dispense your experience to them. if the person is old, urge them to continue.
sometimes, people just need a hand.

The internet is a very bad place and its nowhere getting any better but thats public knowledge. So back to your post. I read it as: "This forum bitch way too much about SOFT and long term wise it'll influence a lot of people reading this forum to bitch about SOFT and for what it stands for." I think to myself: What? So with respect to you Soft boss as an individual and a forum owner, should I keep my gap shut about those idiots prancing and posing around in your forum? Should I censor myself of my intolerance to stupidity? I think not. My respect to you is still there for all your contributions but I can't give no respect to those who are just asking for it. I may sound like a broken record but its not YOU sir... its the memberrssss... and its not your duty to protect them. You may want to protect the good name of SOFT by having dialogues with the infidels here but seriously... it can't be done. The infidels here WILL not shut up. Sorry to say, I think your analogy is flawed. The harsh truth is that the majority are not "polyclinic doctors", more like pre-schoolers acting like them after reading Dr. Seuss! All this bitching did not happen overnight. For me, I used to reply and then realised the futility of it all. Even your most helpful posters are getting jaded. Just check out the replies of thor666 and ShredCows. (what's the best guitar? give me suggestions to my personal problem so I don't have to make a decision!) something is wrong in the structure somewhere if 1 post wonders keep asking the same things over and over and over again. like the patients who go into Polyclinics to get MCs even when they aren't sick... you can see the root of the problem is somewhere else. |
