This one posted by Mr. SOFT was damn killer and highly deja vu. Hurhur...

scenario: 5 people who have interest in playing music each bought their instrument and learnt by themselves for 1 year. formed a band and jam for sometime. decided they want to perform. go around asking to play in gigs. got no offer. so decided to organise their own gig and get other bands in who are willing to do it for fun. did good promotions and got all their friends to bring their friends to attend the gig. gig performance so so. audience not engaged.

The trend of releasing boring remixes of songs was only prevalent after the year 2000. But similar data from the Boring Remixes Trend had been published on the year of 1999.

There was no reason to suppress the information. It confirmed what we had told Singaporeans all along, that remixes would stretch out the minds of listeners into boredom.

AgingYouth must also know that masturbating on the spot and kum lans are the inevitable result of higher oil prices.

These were precisely the reasons for the government's initiatives at procreation — to help lower income Singaporeans cope with closet wanking.

Our leg breaking efforts are critical to Singapore's competitive music scene and will improve the quality of musicians vis-a-vis breaking the legs of the incompetent players. It is wrong of AgingYouth to make light of them.

As for a sick fuck stalking the bassist of a local APC cover band, we understand AgingYouth's disappointment as the forummate of an obsessive fella. However, with stalking a local musician, we can promote the music scene better through these scandalous stories.

AgingYouth's views on all these issues distort the truth. They are polemics dressed up as analysis, blaming the local music scene for all that he is unhappy with. He offers no alternatives or solutions. His piece is calculated to encourage rice cookers and bu jun yun, which can only make things worse, not better, for those he professes to sympathise with.

AgingYouth is entitled to his views. But opinions which are widely circulated in an irregular column in a serious online magazine should meet higher standards. Instead of a diatribe AgingYouth should offer constructive criticism and alternatives. And he should come out from behind his pseudonym to defend his views openly.

It is not the role of local musicians or critics in Singapore to champion issues, or campaign for or against the local music scene. If a columnist presents himself as a non-musical observer, while exploiting his access to the mini media to undermine the local music's standing with the audience, then he is no longer a constructive critic, but a partisan player in the music scene.
