timetoregister, thank you for reading. i sometimes cannot express my thoughts with words properly.
my first 2 statements was a reply to Dodgy Conman(sansamprox). coz i see that young people(below 21) are very entreprising nowadays. i see studios/pubs/concerts operated by them and they are doing very well.
when these "doer" youth sees the "stupid" questions on SOFT, it spurs them to do something about it. organising gigs/events and do things that will value-add to the music industry.
Dodgy Conman, good that you are still doing music and supporting gig organisers. i will still be running SOFT and promoting music making.
*there's a URA gallery next to the Maxwell market. very interesting to see how Singaporeans living condition chaged over the years. from shophouse to flats. if got time, do check it out. free admission.

heh, better living condition, but like what most of revamping, rebranding, that have been going on, the end product has no soul in it, most of it..

aiyah there are so many threads already by these ppl who have seen the light. following the light is another thing. but the ultimate is being the light so that others may be attracted.
and it starts all over.
let us all strive to be light.

timetoregister, thank you for reading. i sometimes cannot express my thoughts with words properly. isit? but your analogies always very deep and cheem one le. maybe you need to jiang hua yu? my first 2 statements was a reply to Dodgy Conman(sansamprox). coz i see that young people(below 21) are very entreprising nowadays. i see studios/pubs/concerts operated by them and they are doing very well. Last i checked hor, you need to be 21 to register a business. So I'm very doubtful they actually operate the"studios/pubs" you mentioned. Work there or HELP OUT would be the term u looking for. don't worry I know you sometimes cannot express my thoughts with words properly so I is understanding. as for concerts operated by under 21 ... hello boss, "young people (below 21)" have been doing gigs and concerts for the longest fucking time already. Just because you only know about it recently thru your myopic website doesn't mean it hasn't been happening already. but please help me understand the reason behind this statement about enterprising young people. I also catch no ball when these "doer" youth sees the "stupid" questions on SOFT, it spurs them to do something about it. organising gigs/events and do things that will value-add to the music industry. urm. I assure you hor that stupid questions don't spur nobody. You go look closely la, the two biggest reasons why gig organisers do gigs are for 2 reasons: 1) cos they can't get gigs anywhere else so kaki lai 2) good way to do business (ala xtreme music and sai-to) Dodgy Conman, good that you are still doing music and supporting gig organisers. i will still be running SOFT and promoting music making. please stick that condescending tone of yours where the sun dun shine. running SOFT is the right word. You're simply running it but not doing something about the large amount of leverage you have to truly raise the scene. SOFT has been around for so long, time to go beyond your small kingdom and think bigger right? *there's a URA gallery next to the Maxwell market. very interesting to see how Singaporeans living condition chaged over the years. from shophouse to flats. if got time, do check it out. free admission. Yup, we live now in better conditions thanks to people who envision and make a change instead of simply being a buearucrat. thx

sansamprox
ha..ha.. my analogies are just some lessons learnt from others and life.
you are right about the requirement to be 21 in order to register a business. but what is stopping a 14 years from drinking beer right? get friends/family to buy the beer.
does stupid questions result in any good? hmmm... this one i cannot confirm. but i hope it does not affect you in a negative way.
just like what beauty consultants would say, "there are no ugly woman, just lazy woman". i like to think that there are no stupid questions, just lazy people. if you visit the Kennedy Space Centre, you will see how the engineers/scientists ask themselves all kind of questions, all the time.
"condescending" ? ok, i try to relak mor. do you have any suggestions for SOFT to make things better than it is now?

Dodgy Conman, good that you are still doing music and supporting gig organisers. i will still be running SOFT and promoting music making. Boss, one thing I've always meant to check with you but you never replied in your forum. I know of your good intentions of promoting music and playing music. You are a strong advocator of IP rights as well. But there are so many of these kids who post covers and links (YouSendIt, purevolume, etc.) in the OM section. That's basically flaunting the rules. Taking songs which are not yours and performing it without a PELU or COMPASS license is illegal. Venues like Timbre, Substation have these licenses so a band like Allura or The Observatory can perform these songs and are still covered by the laws. If they were to take these recordings and post them online, woo hoo... Now tt's a different story liao. The one similiar to what's happening in SOFT now.

Do let us know of the outcome... In any case, for any music industry to sustain, usually there involves a high amount of original material which could be either like Electrico, a band effort or Stephanie Sun, a singer performing songs written by a song-writing team. Just a thought: You could push your kids towards this direction... However, if you are based in Japan and look as HOTT as this, you could get away with murder too...
