Sometimes, it's more like what you hear other folks play that you wanna reach that level. Circa 1999, it's Syed Munir... currently, it's Dharma lah... just because you play differently from other folks doesn't mean you are not good or anything lah... it's just that you're cut from a different cloth... Yah. Maybe its after seeing daniel sassoon playing  Help! I can't shred  Then again, if i learn to shred, i'll need to be able to do it in 11/8 Hey, issnt that solo in paranoid andriod in 7/8??? |

Hehe. yah lah. i conclude that i will never learn to shred like the best. I'm a riffmeister man. i write and play riffs....  I was at Swee Lee yesterday. music shops will be,well, music shops. you've got these ppl sitting down and ripping out those pentatonic and phrygian minor flatted 7th scales all over the neck...i'll walk over, stare at them intently and sooner or later they just screw up....LOL...am i evil or what ;D Funny is, when i test guitars or effects, i'll just strum C chord, strike a open dropped d chord and listen. on happier days, i'll do an ocvate run, and thats about it...funny thing is, ppl tend to forget that they're there to check out and listen to the imstrument they're buying and not a showcase of their skills....chances are, if your power chords and slow licks work on the guitar, it'll also stand up to your ripping solos.... |
