Yeah. I bought a YES album too. But no remastering, it was a bit of a pain to listen to. I dunno I somehow thought Geddy Lee was better than Chris Squire. Haha. Maybe I don't listen to them enough to realise.
Hey Airhole, you a bassist too? How come you keep listening to these "bass" people?

i used to be a bassist. that's why i listen to richard bona, victor wooten, chris squire, michael manring... etc.
but i can't hold no groove... cos i ain't got no pocket.. so i switched to something easier.. guitar!!
hahaha..
anyway its not about the musicians, its about the music.. if the music is good, its GOOD>

Haha, but it usually takes some experience as a bassist to be in contact with these people. Usually other instrumentalists don't bother. It's natural. Haha.
Anyways I'll be around here with Me and My bass guitar.
Hehe, any deals on bass stuff?

I heard of lot of that said for the musicman.... and other instruments... but don't you think that the most versatile instrument is not necessary the best instrument? give me a 2 lipstick pickup danelectro over a Godin with midi capabilities, 24 frets and acoustic saddles. you know what i mean... on hindsight... i'll take that godin and sell it. use the money to get the dano and a whole lotta pedals. hehehehe.... good choice.. albeit limitations in the tonal palette. well built too.

Well, I own a MusicMan Sterling. I don't use it a lot contrary to what I'd expected because the tone is harsh and agressive. I use my Modded Cort JPJ a lot more because the tone is sweeter. Sigh.
Anyways, I wanna get a sweet tone sounding bass man, any ideas?

ideas? i say take them from your influences... if u like the mwah from Jaco.. time to get a jazz bass...
if you like the snap from Marcus Miller.. ash body maple neck jazz...
if you like the twang of Steve Harris... get a P bass...
etc etc...
cos i realize a lot of times the bass body material and shape does change the tone.. not forgetting the pickups. u might wanna change the pup on your Sterling..

Haha. The influences thing WILL work provided that I sell many of my organs. For one thing, the sweetest sounding bass I've heard is the Fodera. Which doesn't sound very cheap. Hoho. And I also want a six string fretless, which I love the sound too, i.e. Steve Bailey. So... Steve Bailey Sig AriaUSA model? Not at all good for my finances I'd say. Hehe. Besides, I don't actually want like Wooten or Bailey's tone, I want something nice sweetish and warm so that I can have my own individuality.
Of course the last one is kind of an excuse because I don't deny that money is the biggest issue here.
Why do I need to change my Sterling Pup? What do you suggest I change it to anyways? Nordstrand? Hehe. Cash man. Cash.
If only I were a millionaire ... I'd have no time to play music.
