studies have shown that delay effects are best used in the effects loop of your amp. i tried it out and i think it's better than the position it held in the effects chain. but when playing live, not much of a difference cos frequencies get lost with regards to the other guitar player and more disruptively...the drummer! i've decided to leave it in the chain. so where should we put the delay effects in...the start of the chain or the end of the chain!?!?
what you fellows think?

i would think they r last in the chain.. i have tried before putting them in front n the sound came out muddy.. esp when u have fuzz n distortion on as well.. it really depends i guess.. some might want it first some last.. gotta try n hear for urself... ;D

yep, you are right. Jim from AF said it's always good to put modulation at the end. i think the overdrive/distortion should be second last and last as agreed...delay. but then then again we are all delay lovers...so i guess the phasers, tremolos and so on have to take a back seat aye? hahaha well, to each his/her own

oh yeh.. to divert abit.. i once tried w my pedals in the efx loop n my ernie ball volume pedal became a effects mix pedal.. with heel down there was just clean signal n with toe down.. the effects came in full blown.. it's rather interesting when u can create some delays n then put it to heel down n play some clean notes without delays on them..

Haha thats whats i always did i always put my reverb and delays last of the chain. So i can heard my echos clearer. I am thinking wheter to put my booster first or my compressor first?

Highly interesting...
Ed The Tech Guy told me that his delays (all 3 of 'em) all come 1st...
I was like fwah...
but it's the thing he's gg for... not sure if he's still doing it now.
