its not about true bypass actually...
its just a DIFFERENCE between DC levels at u hear the pop.
poppiest is the the purest superlative for opium. ;D

i thot it was facisnating to read that the original, first ever version of fuzz face was true bypassed. And that was all the way back then.

Err Professor Airhole.. Can you kindly elaborate on why the difference in DC levels will cause the pop when i switch on the some effect pedals?? Do you mean because each pedal in the effects chain draws a different DC voltage magnitude to operate...eg: +9V, - 9v and -15V ... That y got pop?? For example supposing in the effect chain, the 15volts pedals are already on... When i switch on another one that is using 9v..... In the very instance the footswitch contact are made when switching over... the momentary parrallel of the two different voltage will cause some sort of transient voltage surge due to the different voltage trying to balance themselves??? Is it like that??? What if the situation is reversed, if the higher voltage 15V pedal is already on... I then switch on the 9v ones... Will there also be any popping?? How to remedy this problem siah??? Is it unhealthy for the pedals to be constantly subjected to these so call "voltage surges "?? By the way, my effects chain is as follows: Ibanez TubeCompressor(-9V) --> Fulltone Fat Boost(-9V) --> TB Classic (15V) --> TB Hot British (15v) --> Boss DC-2 (-9v) --> MoonPhaser(-9v) --> Supatrem(-9v) --> Maxon AD900 (+12v) --> EH Holy Grail (+9v ) How to power them without the popping from occuring??

the easiest way is make the "POP-ish" sound part of the song. could be a trademark u know. like Jonny Greenwood strumming before the Creep's chorus. who knows. white noise are fun.

to illustrate difference in DC, let's use a pedal that is true bypass and the effect circuit be a TS9 type for easy reference.
say when the pedal is true bypass... u guitar signal is a sine wave... there is little or no DC offset...
if ur pedal is a ts-9, it works on a 9V battery/supply... there is an DC offset of 4.5V when used...
so u see, there is a change in DC voltages, 0V to 4.5V and vice versa.. cause of pop.
and also, dun call me prof... cos i dun have permanent head damage yet ;D

from there the moon fell short of the moog due to his mood and no mod cud do magik to the moon that bring it on par with the moog.
Geeez, i admit, iam a cheesy person and love watching cheesy shows on tv ;D
