Went thru a music revival in the past few days.
Went thru my SP album. Actually, I'm listening to the albums tt are not deemed a classic or sell tt much. like NIN's The Fragile.
Anyway, brought out SP's last studio album, Machina. Damn... some of the songs actually are pretty good.
But Low's 'Amazing Grace' has the exact melody as SP's 'The Crying Tree of Mercury' (gotta love those titles). Who have thunk that Alan Sparhawk steals from Billy Corgan?

the smashing pumpkins are good la. whenever i listen back to SP, it reminds me of my clothespeg days. hanging out at S11 with the people from other bands like Livonia, Sideshow Judy, Suchness etc. i like pisces iscariot a lot as the selection is very offbeat from the usual SP album(it's a b-sides album). for album, i think Gish is very good. you could tell the potential that they had in them...the psychedelic guitars, rawness of sound and all that. i like the rest too, mellon collie, machina and the rest are good but for now it's gish!  |

Pisces iscariot is one of the more favoured SP album of mine. It was different in a good way to me.
Anyone heard the SP track off the singles OST? Drown is the song. Love the way how they use feedback as part of the song. Beautiful song, i thot

yeah, that was a good track. that was the track that made me buy Gish in fact! i think i'll go have a listen again later ;D

SP was so important to me that my first custom pedal was the Behemoth... to cop that SP sound but named after a TAD song.
