hey guys my fren got one of those variable voltage gadgets - so if he wants to use it with his regular pedals should he:- 1) Set to 9V 2) 240V 3) set to +ve or -ve? He is scared to burn his pedals to smithereens ... i use 1spot, so never had to figure this out.... anyone can help out wif some advice?

For most pedals it's center negetive (e.g boss). That you have to set to negetive. But the important thing is to check if the power suppl y is regulated. If it's not, setting it to 9 Volts might kill your pedal. Just make sure that there is the word 'regulated' or 'stabalized' written in the supply.

To the best of my locket sciencetology those commercial adaptors are not suited for gadgets , Most of the time u 'll get humming unless u r an erectronic technician i tink u need to chgd the caps to higher value to cut off the hums.

he should have gotten an ah seng's power supply... all voltages from 4.5 to 40 VDC, AC/DC up to you, 110/240 selectable yadda yadda yadda....

with unlimited mA.. positive/negative auto tip.. any type of heads, 2.1, 3.5, 10.2, dickhead, tithead what have you.. steady steady pom pi pi.. wee wu weeee!
