i like
1) j mascis- dirty, slacking, sweet solo tone
2) slash- at least those solo part, i call it the woody tone
3) eric johnson- freako!!
4) explosions in the sky- there is just something bout the clean tone they had, i am thinking it could be the solid melody of their music that make me like their clean tone..
5) my tone, hahaha, actually nothing special. I like using neck PU or the combination of bridge and neck for clean tone. With full distortion/od, gotta be bridge PU, with fuzz, either neck or combination of neck/bridge for a smooth, sweet warm rounded tone... I like to increase mids, half bass, down the treble on the amp. Hehe, think in a band context, the tone cannot cut thru at all.....

heheh.. i do just about the opposite though.. i push up bass n treble n then reduce the mids.. very clean acoustic sounding w alot of bass..

haha.. maybe the end result will sound like all settings cranked.. or maybe there'll be some comb filtering.. haha.. learn this term from mi bassist..
