Check out this email i got from this guy who wanted to sell his LP Studio at $1500... I couldn't make it to see him last week, and he "imploded"
QUOTE" like u ever was going to buy anything. In the future, please refrain from wasting people's time. I know the type (which is very very wide spread in SIngapore) - getting the most of "commitments" out of the seller not even having money. When they get everything they could, they suddenly have "work commitments" (even though it didnt hinder 'em from spamming with e-mails before). Anyway I ll let all of my local musicians pals know of your name so you couldnt do it with anyone else. /blocked as a spam" I don't know what the story is with seller/buyer etiquette. So when does it become wasting time ? Does it mean that once you ask questions, you are going to buy? If you check out a guitar and test it, does it mean that you are ready to accept the sellers price?
What if you counteroffer and the seller doesn't accept? What does that mean?
This is a cool topic - pls feel free to add. I suggest no names..

hmmn sounds like u made a valid point dear gargle.
i was taking to hiddy on email, abt his microvibe, didn't have time nor the cash to meet up, though i'm interested in the vibe itself.
but i guess since we are regular posters, its not all that bad.
personally i haven't met anyone who reacted this way... but i've done deals with pretty much all kinds of people.
there's this dude who wanted to buy a wah from me, i told him no qualms can come over and try, if u don't like it, its ok.
he came over at like 4pm... glowered at my pedalboard (which issn't anything at all compared to the sluts here) and talked strat to me, which i tele didn't really comprehand.. then he went on to play, the wah with all the pedals and without the pedals, and he just went on and on for like 2 hours.
my board's next to my bed so i laid beside my bed and i fell asleep. seriously he took 2 hours to try the wah.
then he told me he'll let me know again. i said no problem. but i felt 2 hours to try a wah, was abit overkill. before that he asked to try the fulldrive and dl-4 loop mode. so i was like a salesman demo-ing the stuff to him.

the seller might have gotten lotsa shitz from people who play him/her out.....
hehe, and the funny thing is, i wonder who are his local musician pals.
buy sell buy sell, everthing is just normal, got hit got missed. But if in the way like what the seller react, maybe he got his own reason...
1) Needing the $1500 to save whole family from extreme hunger and proverty
2) Needing the $1500 to pay for another guitar that is on the way to him
3) needing the $1500 to record the break through album of the year
4) needing the $1500 stage a comeback tour of ang mo kio, clementi, bishan or sengkang etc
5) needing the $1500 for downpayment of a nu car for transportation of gear
6) needing the $1500 to buy weapons and wipe out those potential buyers who might have play him/her out
7) needing the $1500 cos he needs it really
8) needing the $1500 to pay for the recently signed up anger management course
9) needing the $1500 to pay for air fare, migrate to overseas and pursue a rocker lifestyle
10) needing the $1500 for downpayment of sex change
there you go, so many reasons
cum cum, repeat after me, we will sing to:
"heal the world, make it a better place, for you and for me and the entire human race"......

mmmm I can relate to the seller.
Because seriously, most local buyers in the 2nd hand market have the cheap good big chest mentality. They bargain down the price and beg and whine and you agree to a lower price before meeting up then the buyer tries to bargain down the price again. That is what truly pisses me off.
As for the meeting up part, after one experience, I decided that buyers would meet me at my convenience not vice-versa. Since they come to where I'm at, I don't get all hissy when they fail to turn up. I do agree that the seller flew off the handle there. $1500 is not exactly a small sum of money. Even buying a digicam is cheaper and sure people want to test test test until the cows come home.
Fast game buyers are the best lah.

now i know how it feels to be misse haha the best is to never have any high hopes of selling it.. becoz if they truly want the stuff.. most of the time it's fast game.. i get customers whom i know borrow my pedals to try in their setup for like weeks n months n hang on to them n come back telling me sorry lah.. it's not that good.. some even better.. after weeks of trying tell me aiyoh busy lah, no time to play with it yet.. it's ok to not like a pedal but dun hog lah.. if i friend friend lend you to play with no intention to sell different story lah..

She gave a fair reduction so i email her back to ask for the time n place to check out the instrument at her convenience not mine. Back came the reply "Er sori i don't like to do meet ups, very inconvenient and also i am doin shift work, pls get back to me if u are still interested". I was like wat the f%*K.
